Stuart Gordon (Chairman)
Stuart is a local to the North West of NSW and has held various senior executive appointments with Government and nonGovernment organisations over the last 20 years. His appointments have been predominantly in the primary health care sector covering the north-west catchment of rural and remote NSW.
He is currently the CEO of the Far West NSW Medicare Local and is also a Director on the NSW Outback Division of General Practice. Including an 2- year executive assignment in East Africa, he has been responsible for significant policy and organizational development within the regional primary health and community development sector, has served on a number of Ministerial advisory committees and also overseen a large number of capital works and community infrastructure projects in the western region.
With Degree and Masters qualifications in science, public health and business, he is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Executives. Stuart is passionate about rural and remote Australia and is part of a third generation farming family and lives with his wife and three children on a small vineyard on the banks of the Darling River in Bourke. He has first-hand experience of the significant challenges facing families and local sporting organisations participating in sport across the vaste NSW outback, but also recognises the incredible contribution sport makes to the well-being and social fabric of rural and remote communities.
Stuart is currently the Chair of the FWAS and was previously an appointed Director during its transition and establishment.
